The Dream Team vs L'Manberg War, also known as the First Great War of the Dream SMP or War for L'Manbergian “Independance”, is a war that took place from July 25, 2020, to August 2, 2020. The war was declared by Dream after Wilbur Soot declared independence from the Dream SMP and created L'Manberg. The L’Manberg battalion included the original L’Manberg citizens, Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, Fundy and Eret until Eret’s betrayal in the Final Control Room.

He lead the rest of the battalion to the Final Control Room where the Dream Team hid in the walls, prepared to attack L'Manberg. For his betrayal, Dream gave him the title of King of the Dream SMP and joined the Dream Team with Dream, George, Sapnap and Punz. After multiple L’Manbergian battle losses, the War concluded with a duel between Tommy and Dream, Tommy ultimately losing but giving up his discs in return for L’Manberg’s independence.

In their victory, Wilbur established the first administration, declaring himself the President of L’Manberg, Tommy the Vice President, Tubbo the Secretary of State and Fundy his “Little Champion”. Niki and Jack Manifold later joined, becoming the Secretary of Treasury and the ambassador of L’Manberg.

The L’Manberg Independence War was the first proper arc with a storyline and acting. It had loose writing and depended mostly on improvisation. The arc was started and written by Wilbur Soot whom had taken inspiration from the musical Hamilton and the American Revolutionary War. Throughout the streams, multiple quotes from Hamilton were said by L’Manbergians. The most notable reference from Hamilton was in the Tommy vs Dream duel, Tommy asks Wilbur, “Do I shoot him Will, or do I aim for the skies?”
