MOVIE FAN THEORIES
Pixar is known for it's intricate plots, and also extravagant fan theories that are constantly circulating. The major overarching speculation is that each Pixar movie exists in the same universe, on the same timeline, and each movie is interconnected with each other. So, fans theorize that many characters from different movies appear in each others' movies, backed up by tons of evidence and even subtle hints and Easter Eggs from the filmmakers! Here are a few examples of the most famous theories showing the interconnectivity of the movies:
In the movie Inside Out, the main character, Riley, had an imaginary friend named Bing Bong who was described to be part elephant, cat, dophin, and cotton candy. Each of these animals (or food) matches up with a certain part of his body, except for his brightly colored orange and yellow legs. Many questioned where these legs "came" from, meaning where did Riley see orange and yellow striped legs that were included in Bing Bong as a figment of her subconscious? If the Pixar Theory is true, and the movies are interconnected, then each child in every film would also have a monster, as in a monster who visits children through their closet from    the movie  Monster's Incorporated. George Sanderson, pictured right, is a monster who was seen in Monster's Inc., with the same specifically patterned legs. So, fans put two and two together and theorized that George was Riley's monster! She would have seen him enter her room every night, and either as a form of coping or familiarity (depending on whether George was a scarer or comedian at that point), she would use his legs in her imagination friend.
The Inside Out - Monster's Inc Theory

The Toy Story - Monster's Inc Theory

Similarly to the previously mentioned theory, this theory also discusses the interconnectivity between Monster's Inc. and Toy Story. This theory is backed with much more movi-based evidence, however. The theory is that Randall is Andy's monster. In Monster's Inc, Randall is practicing his ability to completely camouflage, and uses a very specific background to blend in... it is the exact wallpaper from Andy's room in Toy Story. Those who have watched Monster's Inc know that the monsters enter through the closet door, and on Andy's closet door is a sticker that says "newt x-ing" (crossing) with an image of a lizard that bears a striking resmeblance to Randall. The third piece of evidence is from Monster University's old official website- it features n image of a door that looks exactly like Andy's. All three pieces of evidence could be just coincidences, but it isn't far fetched to connect the dots and realize that Andy might have been the kid behind one of those doors Randall always scared in.
