Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat Major is one of his most popular pieces. A nocturne is a piece of music that describes a nightly setting. I'm sure it's very easy to imagine yourself under a starry night while listening to this. It has a cheerful tone, and sets a nice, calming atmosphere.
Chopin's Waltz in D-flat Major, commonly referred to as the "Minute Waltz" is not a minute in length, but definitely a minute in character! Being one of his most cheerful compositions, it's quick and uses a lot of fast notes.
Chopin's Polonaise in A-flat Major, nicknamed the "Heroic Polonaise", is one of his most admired pieces. It's one of his more difficult pieces to try to play, but it has a very nice ring to it. Listening to the piece is very inspiring, and therefore is used as a great symbol of heroism and pride.
Chopin's Etude in C Minor was composed in 1831, after he had learnt that his homeland in Poland had just lost their revolution agaisnt Russia. The piece was titled "Revolutionary", and it describes the feeling that most of the Polish people were feeling at the time. Just by listening to it, you can feel Chopin's anger through the fast, fiery notes he had written in this piece.
